Kind Words

Chris and Donna were wonderful hosts! I stayed with them for 1 week. They are very friendly, caring, and just great. Their home is a beautiful historic brownstone with a wonderful backyard garden to sit in and enjoy a glass of wine on a warm night. I stayed in the Nautical room and loved it. The interior design was lovely, Donna is also a great designer. My room was spacious and very comfy. The house is also in perfect walking distance to everything in the Downtown area, Proctors Theater, the River, Amtrak Station, Jay street. If I'm back in Schnectady I will definitely stay with Donna and Chris again. S.H. performer Pippin the musical.

I again stayed at this wonderful home in the Stockade. Donna & Chris were there to greet me and show me to my room. It's a delight to stay with them. My bed was very comfortable and the Princess room was lovely as they all are. It's the best place in the area to stay. I feel safe and enjoy walking in the neighborhood. I look forward to my stay there in the spring when I return. D.C. Bryson City NC

Honestly, the best traveling experience ever. On Airbnb, on a cruise, at a hotel, etc. Nothing tops the friendliness, helpfulness, and awesomeness of Donna, Chris, and their lovely friends who I met during my all too brief stay. The house is gorgeous & I could only wish a future bedroom of mine could be as cute as the one I stayed in. The house is in the charming historic neighborhood & only a couple of blocks from the train station. I would be pleased as punch to stay at their house again. Many thanks for welcoming me! V.T. nyny

We highly recommend Chris and Donna'a home in the beautiful Stockade area of Schenectady. This was my first trip home in 18 years and it couldn't have been better. We were warmly welcomed and had everything we needed. The rooms are beautifully designed, clean and airy (each is so unique) and we slept soundly each night. The shared bathroom was large and clean and gorgeous. We also loved being greeted by Jeffrey the cat when we came home- bonus! There was fresh coffee at our disposal just out the room which made the mornings even better. We will be back at a future visit. Thank you so much! I.E. Vancouver Canada

Chris and Donna were wonderful hosts. They welcomed us into their home as if we were already friends. They made the check in time easy and flexible and were very well acquainted with the area, offering me tips on my apartment search, for restaurants, and for activities in the neighborhood. The room and the house were gorgeously and uniquely decorated, everything was clean and organized, and there was a definite vintage feel. Definitely take a look at the backyard if you go! The area is in a great part of Schenectady (the Stockade) and is walkable to restaurants and bars. Overall we had an amazing stay and I fully recommend them. M.D. Boston Ma

Chris and Donna were absolutely wonderful hosts! From the minute we arrived they made me and my friends feel welcome, and took care of anything we needed during our stay. The House was beautiful and exactly as advertised. I travel almost year round for work and staying with Chris and Donna has been one of my favorite Airbnb experiences so far! C.F. Motown the musical

The property: This bed and breakfast is the perfect example of what happens when people follow their passions. Chris and Donna have put their heart and soul into this building. And you can definitely tell, by every little detail. From the subway tiles in the bathroom, to the vintage towel rings in the bedroom, to the chandeliers on every ceiling, it's all taken very careful consideration. I went there for work, but it could easily be a romantic weekend spot for couples. The Hosts: Donna and Chris are awesome people! They always made sure I was comfortable and welcomed. One of the days, I was having a rough time at work and I returned to my room with a bouquet of flowers at my door. The timing was perfect and it was just the sweetest thing. And then later on, they offered me a kitten to snuggle with for a few hours. Donna also hosted an amazing spread of cheese and wine for our last night. We're facebook friends now :) The neighborhood: The Stockade neighborhood is a historic one with brownstones and row houses that are artfully preserved close to their original state. It's about a 10 minute walk to Proctors (perfect for touring guests). There's also a fair amount of restaurants within a 0.75 mile radius. Overall, I've had a great time here and it made my week go by so quickly! Thumbs way up! A.F. Motown the musical
